time for more cupcakes
i didn't get to work on any christmas gifts this weekend. but i did make these yummy cupcakes. i helped host a baby shower for a childhood friend yesterday. it was originally going to be held at another girl's house, but her family came down with the stomach flu, so we moved the festivities to our house, which meant that there was a cleaning frenzy around these parts for a couple of days, hence the no crafting. unless, of course, you count the cupcake toppers. the theme for the party was black and white and she doesn't know if she is having a girl or boy. so, i didn't want to make black icing and there are not a lot of baby ideas with a black and white theme. i found these envelope seals and this white floral wire, so i made my own cupcake toppers by placing the wire between two seals. i think they turned out pretty cute. and the cupcakes were a hit! this is my go to recipe for cupcakes and cake. i always get tons of compliments. so, if you are looking for the perfect cupcake, try these. well, i am going to go and attempt to make a knit cap for my grandpa. i tried to make a hat earlier this year and that didn't work out so well. i sure hope it goes better this time.

i have been wanting to knit a hat lately, but that will have to be everyone's gift for NEXT year...i'll start learning in the spring and then it will take me the rest of the year to make enough of them for everyone. :)
yummy looking cupcakes, and great idea on the decorations! i have filed this recipe. i definitely need a go-to cupcake recipe...
oh man, i can taste those cupcakes. i can also vouch that it is definitely the best cupcake recipe ever!
