settling in

News flash: Moving is hard. When I announced that we were moving, I thought it would be really great to blog about the process. Not about how to pack boxes or in which order to pack them (although sometimes it felt like it would be helpful if someone would just tell me those things), but more about the emotional parts of a move. The good and the bad. The fun and the not so fun.

But I was hit with a pretty big dose of reality. In December, Michael was on tour and for two weeks we had various band members and their families staying with us (which was a lot of fun). The tour lasted until December 23 and then we went to visit family for Christmas for a week. We then returned home to a whirlwind of packing and preparing for the move. I was still homeschooling during most of that time. I was determined not to get too far behind. Did I mention that I was sick through Christmas, too? Because that makes things cleaning and packing easier.

Honestly, there wasn't a whole lot of time to sit and really digest all that was going on, much less be able to blog about it.

{At this point Michael and I decided we had all we really needed in the moving truck.}

The good news? We are on this side of the move and mostly settled. I found this photo on my phone after Lucy had it the other day. Apparently she is enjoying our new back porch...

As a matter of fact, this picture is a great representation of how we feel right now. Happy. Very very happy.

Glad you guys are liking your new place. We had a big move this year too, so I can relate to all the good and the bad. And, our new town has a cute courthouse too!
