a birthday apron

I just have to start his post by asking, "Is anyone else tired of allergies?" That question has nothing to do with this post. But, as I type, my throat and ear feel like they are on fire and I just had to complain for a second. Moving on...

My friend's little girl just had a birthday, and I decided I would make an apron for her. I wanted a full apron, but I didn't have a pattern, but I did have the vintage pattern above that I tweaked a bit to get the result I wanted.

Lucy picked out the fabric from my stash. I think I have had this particular print since Larkin was a baby! Lucy was my {not so willing} model for this post. I think it was the fact that she had to get out of pajamas. But, at least she did it.

The pattern had little cap sleeves on the dress apron. I didn't include those and I added a pocket to the front.

I also made the apron reversible. The other side uses the same fabrics, just switched.

And I just had to include this photo. In this shot she was saying, "Can we please just be done with this?"

Ca-ute!!!

And I have bragged to Cory for the past 5 years or so that I "outgrew" my allergies. And this this year happened. We went to a cook-out today, I brought my own box of tissues. And Sat. night I had dinner with a friend who nicely said, "You have a crumb on your nose", to which I replied, "No, it's just raw skin that looks alarmingly like boogers." (Or something to that effect.)
