Yesterday was our official first day of first grade and the beginning of our second year of homeschooling! I can remember how nervous I was last year. I had no idea what to expect! And although I have a better grasp this year, yesterday was not without its bumps, and I am sure there are more to come this week as we settle back into a routine and get accustomed to new books and subjects. Here are the kids getting a little silly during the picture taking...
I am also very excited about our improved classroom. It is the same layout as last year, but we have a new table (hallellujah!) and some new organizational bits that are already making life much easier...
In somewhat related news...Larkin is reading quite a lot now. (I guess I did something right last year!) I love to hear him read, it really does make my heart swell. And sometimes it makes me giggle, like on Sunday when he was in the car reading coupons to us. Too funny! Now, if I could just get him to clip and organize them! I hope you are all having a fun back to school season!

They look so cute!
Happy first day of school to you and your little ones! We are starting in about 2 weeks so I am just starting to plan. Books should be arriving this week so that will put things in high gear!
Hi, Amy!
I clicked over from Johanna's site - Stop and Smell the Flowers. I love your blog - so many great ideas. Love the laundry soap, and I love your schoolroom.
I am in my first year of homeschooling. I'm doing Kindergarten with my 5 year-old and my 3 year-old is following along. I am so unsure of what to expect - so I could relate to your thoughts from last year. We had our first week this past week and I loved it - so did my boys!
Sarah
your schoolroom looks wonderful!
