costumes revisited on election day

what a beautiful day for election day! it is in the low seventies here and the polling precinct in only a two block walk for us. it is in the recreation center in our park. we waited in line surrounded by the beauty of nature and our neighbors. it was great!
now onto the costumes... larkin insisted on being a transformer this year. i must say i was quite skeptical about whether or not i could pull it off. while we were buying fabric, larkin said, "remember mom, it doesn't have to be perfect. it just has to look like him." whew! i think i did ok. he was happy anyway and the local firemen guessed right off who he was so that was a bonus...
(he did wear shoes, by the way) lucy was a bee. she even carried around a little sign that read, "Save the Bees!"

i am not sure what the pose below actually was, but it was certainly entertaining...
i just love how happy they both look here...
