at the beginning of the school year i joined a homeschool support group. i have really enjoyed the group and the other moms i have met. this past saturday we had a fall festival with the families. each family sponsored a game booth and we donated baked goods for a cake walk. i made paula deen's sour cream pound cake and her italian cream cake. as a side note, i have never gone wrong with a paula deen recipe. they are always great. back to the festival...the children had so much fun and we got to meet a lot of new people. for our booth i made a game called tic-tac-toss. it was a lot like tic-tac-toe, but with baskets and bean bags. i made two sets of these apple bean bags, one set of green and one set of red. the game seemed to be a big hit. and i must admit the apple bags were a lot of fun to make. here is our game set up at the festival...
here is a typical photo of our family. for those of you with children...are mine the only ones who cannot possibly look at the camera at the same time? and have to make goofy faces? it just makes me laugh...
and because i love this shot of lucy, icing on her face and all...

what a great game:) and yes i am yet to get a family shot without someone picking their nose or pulling a face, nice to see you:)
Amy,
I found your blog a few weeks ago and have wanted to try your vegetable casserole ever since. We had it for dinner tonight. It was wonderful. The true test will come when my picky eater gets home from swim practice. I am thinking he will love the beans and polenta. Thanks for the recipe.
