an apple a day
michael took the children down to the state farmer's market last week in search of bushel baskets for us to use in the game we are in charge of for our homeschool group's fall festival this weekend (more on that later in the week). fortunately, he found a vendor and also brought home about five pounds of apples. it became evident that we were not going to be able to eat all of them, so i decided to try my hand at apple jelly. it was a bit different from the jam i made earlier this summer, but it was just as simple. as a bonus, the house smelled like apples. it was great! i just made a small batch, six pints. it seems to be a hit...
