warning: ugly ahead

my friends janelle and leroy just left to visit family in the phillipines and before they departed they asked me to make a gag gift. a gag gift of the large-clown-bowtie variety. have i ever ventured into this area of creativity? no. but i thought, "surely it will be pretty easy to make something ugly. i mean, isn't the challenge in making something pretty?" folks, i was wrong. have you ever intentionally tried to create and ugly object? it isn't all that easy. but, after some loosening up and letting go of some rules, this is what i came up with...
i felt like i needed to apologize to millicent; she is not used to this type of humiliation. (side note: i haven't looked at that picture in a while. we have made changes to our decor  since then, and i must say it is an improvement!). have you ever intentionally make something ugly? tell me about it.

i think this might not actually be as ugly as you think. ;) and you know me--i've made LOTS of ugly things, not intentionally, but with my lack of skill combined with lack of determination to "get it right" i usually screw things up one way or the other! ha ha

you owe me an email about the beach...hint hint!

What a funny request. I would have loved to watch you pick out the different fabrics. I only make ugly things on accident. lol

What might suppose to have been a ugly gag gift really is cute. I love the different fabrics. Wonder what Janelle is going to do with this bow tie. Hugs to all.

that is funny and ugly
i mean that in the nicest way of course
perhaps i should name my dressform and show it one day
i've had it forever at least 16 years. i think she needs a tune up- she's adjustable

Sorry - it's too cute to be ugly! I don't know if this means you failed, or succeeded, but I like it. I wouldn't wear it, but I like it.

I think that WOULD be hard to do!! Sounds like a fun challenge though :)

Look how perfect that is! Now I have made plenty of things that turned out ugly. For instance, take a look at the cats I made with Dove and Promise. Well, don't look yet because I haven't posted them. I'll get right on that!

hahaha! that is hilarious?

i don't recall ever making something purposely ugly, but i must have, probably something for my little brother when i was a kid. ;)

o, my "hilarious" comment was not meant to be a question by the way! (perhaps i really do need to get that A/C so i can think properly.)
