first week in review

five. that is the number of days i have rung the official homeschool bell. larkin loves to have the bell rung for the beginning of our day. oh, and i forgot to mention that he brought me an apple on the first day of school. things are going well and we are both enjoying ourselves. here are a couple of shots from our week. math linking cubes...
and a couple of weeks ago lumpy lost his tail. i decided that picking out the right color thread for a project and doing some basic stitching are pretty important skills to learn. i am sure there will be a button that needs to be resewn somewhere in his future, and i want him to be prepared. lucy was kind enough give lumpy a pillow for his trunk.
we are off tomorrow to the beach for the week. i must say this is the first vacation i have taken with a school room in tow. we are prepared with all of our lessons and a bag full of library books about the ocean. i hope to get to post while we are away. have a great weekend!

Amy- You are my hero! I love all of your fun ideas for school time. Larkin is a lucky little boy. Oops, big boy!!
Your quilt is beautiful! The fabrics are wonderful and $22 is a steal.
Have fun at the beach- I can just imagine the fun you will all have learning new things there. :)

ok how weird is it that i have that exact same bell? i bought it to give as a gift ages ago and never gave it because i loved it so much. it hangs out on the wall of our shed. maybe i'll have to bring it back inside b/c now it will make me think of you when i see it! :)

sewing is a great skill...and definitely one he wouldn't be getting in public school. not to beat a dead horse, but really really wish we could see you guys. you will be SO ClOSE! clinging to october...and i owe you a phone call. :) i'm not in jail. hee hee
