happy new year

i just got my camera cable back today. i had left it at my parents' house and my mom mailed it to me. thanks mama! these are some beautiful turnips that one of my parents' neighbors dropped off on christmas eve morning. the purple was so pretty! and while i am on the subject of greens, we did have our dear friends matt and erica over for a traditional new year's lunch yesterday. i have no idea why i didn't take any pictures. i guess i was just boycotting the whole photo thing until my cable returned. pathetic, huh? but, it looked a little like this. we also had our friends, leroy and janelle, over for leftovers last night. we celebrated twice with them since they came over on new year's eve to watch amelie and have a domino marathon (by the way, i won!). and since this post could get rather long with christmas and new year's happenings, i am going to keep it short and post a few highlight photos from christmas...
a yummy yummy fruit tart i helped michael's mom make...

and finally, the rag rug that i made her for christmas...

it looked great in her kitchen...

and a wonderful night celebrating my grandparents' wedding anniversary...

our christmas was amazing. we were with our families for a week and it was so nice to just hang out with everyone and relax. as for my nod at new year's resolutions, i am keeping it simple...be better at planning. i am sure this will come up in future posts, as i need help planning in a lot of areas. so stay tuned...

i would love to have the recipe for that fruit tart when you get a second--it's beautiful.

and i would also like to know if you have any websites handy for rag-rug making instructions? (since i wasn't privileged enough to get personally taught by mary jane...!)

still plugging along here on my scarf. this is taking forever...

OMG!! Love the rag rug!! Those boogers last forever. I'm not even going to think about how scrumptuous that tart must have tasted! LOL hugs, Bon
