excited and tagged

i finished our stockings!! i can't even put into words how excited i am. michael and i have been married over six years and we finally have stockings! larkin and lucy had the red one and the blue one last year. i just finished michael's and mine yesterday. of course, lucy's favorite color is yellow. so now we have to switch things up a bit. larkin kept his(red), lucy got michael's(yellow), michael got mine(green) and i got lucy's(blue). maybe i will embroider our names next year...

beki tagged me last week with eight random things about me. so here goes my attempt...

1. i am scared of lips without faces. in general, images of face parts without the face disturb me. but, lips actually scare me(even just the lipstick kisses you see on cards around valentines day).

2. i can't wear skirts or shorts when it rains. the rain on my legs makes me uncomfortable. who am i kidding? i find it hard to wear shorts ever.

3. i am obsessive about ironing when i sew. i love crisp folds.

4. i have tons of fabric and yet somehow, i never have just what i need.

5. i am crazy about lip balm and lip gloss. flavored, unflavored...i don't discriminate.

6. i thrive off of comments left on my blog. the most i have ever received is 11 (and haven't come close since). i know that is not bad, but i dream of 20. is that pathetic? probably. want to help me out?

7. i love board games and dominoes. love, love, love them.

8. i collected pencils and fun erasers when i was a little girl. i still have the collection. i also collected soft plastic fishing worms for a small time, but that phase passed quickly.

that was harder than i thought. now it is my turn to tag. so...

Cute. I love them. The secret to getting a lot of posts is to announce pregnancy. hee hee. We're officially over the shock and have moved into the excitement phase. We're gonna be nuts.

maybe katie's right...what a great ploy...although somehow having just gone through a 3rd (surprise) pregnancy i think the cost of actually BEING pregnant far outweighs the benefit of a lot of blog comments that is (not the benefit of an awesome 3rd baby though!).

Katie is right about receiving lots of comments when you have a baby. I got 13 when Ella was born and 7 when I announced the pregnancy. Still, I only got 13. I guess it's because I don't know that many people who blog, and the people I do know, don't usually leave a comment. Anyways, I will be happy to oblige with your tagging. I will do it as soon as possible.

Love the stockings! The vintage prints are soo dear. I can picture the names for next year -- would really finish them off and would also prevent more color-switching!!

I so understand about craving lots of comments on your blog. I've never reached 10, I don't think. But I love every one of them. Makes me happy each time I see another.

Funny that you don't like lips without faces. Did you ever see that Don Knotts movie where he had cartoon fish-lips? Grossed me out!!

i think it counts even if i leave 2 comments on the same post, right? anyway i just read your response to my knitting post, and i'm sad too. you know, those beautiful bamboo needles are what inspired me. i'm so disappointed in these small, purple, shiny ones. so "disco." ;)

in my old closet at my mom's house, i still have a ceramic pitcher full of my collection of pencils. i had the exact same one with the black phone! and i still can't believe there's someone else in the world that collected those rubber fishing worms. the purple sparkly ones were the best. i can still remember the smell.

I love your stockings. I wasn't going to make us stocking, but I'm feeling the urge...

oh how talented is that amy gal. i think i just like the fact that i have a friend that is just as kooky as me! tee hee, just kidding. fortunately for me, i get to preview almost all of her goods before she shares them with the rest of you...lucky me. and you know, it’s always great to have someone to go to for help… especially when it comes to sewing :) doesn’t she always have the cutest stuff on her blog.

so yeh amy, i heart your blog :)

amy, you need to come over and help me make stockings that are as cute as yours. oh wait...you have to come to the store to help me pick out fabric. gosh, what a needy friend you have. but i do love them…i want to start a new Christmas tradition with stockings just so i have an excuse to make them.

i know this is my third comment, but i am leaving it here so you will have 20! i'm making your pistachio cake right now, and i'll be sure to take a pic before it gets eaten. and i definitely didn't make 1/2 c. nuts--i got tired of shelling pistachios. here's hoping it tastes great anyway!
