good eggs

i have neglected to mention that we own chickens. i need to get some photos of them to post, but for now, their eggs will have to do. we have two hens, myrna loy and constance bennett, and one rooster, cary grant. yes, i am a classic movie gal. it is really great having your own fresh eggs and they last so much longer than store bought eggs. i had no idea of the beauty until we got our own chickens. i believe that currently myrna is out and about in the yard. she manages to fly the coup every day. and speaking of good eggs...

this was a few weeks ago at my parents' house. it was during the time that my granny was in the hospital. the kids were getting a little stir crazy in the house, so we decided it would be a good idea to let them run under the sprinkler. wow, they had a lot of fun!
