thankful thursday

A friend of mine recently wrote about abundance and being thankful for the great things our lives. I haven't sat down each day and made a list, which I thought about doing, but I have been consciously noting things as I come across them (even tiny flip flops left at the bottom of the stairs). And really, has any good ever come of dwelling on the negatives in life? So today I present to you some things for which I am thankful...

{I am thankful no one was injured when the leg fell off our table while we were eating supper.}

{I am thankful for a tomato plant that has completely taken over the garden area. People, this is one plant. It is almost six feet tall and just as wide.}

{I am thankful that the largest of my smalls is really making an effort to improve his handwriting.}

{I am thankful to be able to go through this book with the smallest of my smalls. Her sweet little voice sounding out the words is heartwarming.}

{I am thankful for a new spiral notebook. I have one in red, too!}

Those are just a few from my "list" today. What are you thankful for today?

Such a nice list, Amy! :D I enjoyed reading it. I'm a bit scared of your monster tomato plant ;-) -- though my dad used to grow 6-ft. tomato plants himself. What kind of fruit load are you getting from it?

Today I'm thankful for the sunshine outside, for the first leaves of fall that I can see beginning to trickle down from our trees even as I type this, for the fact that a friend and I are going to another (hugely pregnant with twins!) friend's house today to help her clean, because it means that I have friends. I'm thankful that our daughters live nearby and we get to see them often, and thankful that I get such enjoyment from reading because it means there's always something entertaining to do. :) And I'm even thankful for the internet, which allows me to easily keep in touch with friends across the country or around the world, regardless of the distance between us.

Thanks, Amy, for your day-brightener this morning! :D

For YOU and YOUR little FAMILY that I love so much! There are so many things too numerous to list just today---phones(calls like I just received from you), Christian friends like we just shared a meal with,safety in travel today with a sweet sister-in-law, Homecoming activities at RBBC! A man who is a great hunter of armos! Don't you just love it!

These are sweet thoughts! Good reminder to be thankful for little flip flops - rather than mad that they're in way (like I am, oftentimes). The tomato plant is stunning!
