see that lovely porch swing on which my lucy sits? well, she and i painted it this morning. it has had a coat of primer on it for oh, about three years. we are repainting our porch and trim, so today seemed like a good day to paint the swing as well. afterwards, lucy and i decided to return our books to the library (although everyone was sad to see skippyjonjones and the big bones go back. oh, and if you haven't read the first skippyjon jones, you have to. it is so much fun to read.) ok, where was i? right. lucy wanted to wear the dress i made for her birthday. however, now it is a bit short. so, since i had some fabric left over from the lining of the dress, i decided to make her some pants to wear under it. i am really pleased with how they turned out. they are just what i was picturing. and now she gets to wear the dress so much longer.

Your little girl is a beauty! Porch swings are so romantic...

Love the outfit!
I should get on that for my girl, she is growing like a weed!
Lucy looks so cute in her new pants. What a great way to use the left over fabric. Maybe when I get my sewing room organized I will be able to find my fabric better. See you all soon.
Love to all, Aunt Deborah
unless of course, she becomes like anna and decides that pants are not for girls. maybe if i made pants that cute, she'd comply. i'm impressed that you're painting your porch. i bought floor paint for our porch, oh, about 6 years ago and never used it.
I really like the two patterns together..so brillant! You are so right~ I love pants under dresses because not only is it super cute, but they can wear a dress for all seasons..& much longer at that.
I'm loving the pants. Very cute. I can't believe how big Lucy has gotten. She is too cute!!
i used to do that with gillian too--when she grew, i would put pants under the dress. although you KNOW i didn't sew the pants. :) this outfit is so adorable. i'm with mystele...i want one too! :)
i loved that dress when you made it
i even went and got the fabric
what patterns did you use if any?
love the photos
so jealous of the porch and swing
happy 4th
Beautifully made! Such a pretty outfit... I'm jealous! All you sewing ladies are finally going to get my behind in gear. I love your pajama pants, too, and I have Amy's book, so thank you for giving me the final kick I needed. Looks like I'm making some pants this summer.
