i am so excited to be part of a new project called
one quilt.
dorie emailed me a while back to see if i was interested and of course i was! a group of twelve very talented women are joining together to help each other make a quilt. each month the selected block recipient will decide what they want their quilt to look like and they will send the fabric out to each of the other participants who will then make a quilt block and send it back to them. and the other months they will receive fabric and do the same for the other participants. so by the end of the year each participant, after they assembly their blocks and quilt them, will have their very own quilt made by women from all over the world! that is twelve quilts! i am so excited. dorie started us off this month with the fabrics above. my month is not until february, so i have a little time to decide on my theme. you can see all the participants and check our progress
here.
in other quilting news...

here.
and just because, check out these great finds i got while we were in florida last week. two books from a thrift store for only fifty cents for both!
and i got two yards of this cute fabric and vintage pattern from a great little shop in
ybor city just before eating at

The quilt project sounds excellent. What a treasure you will have.
I am envious of your thrift store finds. I want that Look and Learn book. It would be interesting to read a "vintage" teacher's edition. The pattern is adorable. I can imagine a summer full of those dresses.Lisa
thanks for putting me in your sidebar. I think you should do a video because I'm going to put them all on my blog and therefore drive traffic to yours. :) Think about it!

the fabric, the pattern - much too cute!
ok i posted a comment but it didn't stick, so hopefully it doesn't show up later and make me look like i have split personality disorder. :)
i want to know where you got those books...somehow i didn't hear you mention them when you were here. so do tell!
i'm so jealous of the quilting thing. this is one of those things that i could learn from you if we ever lived in the same freakin' city...and i really want to enter that drawing your friend dana is having, because that quilt is exquisite, but i just feel guilty entering things when i don't have much craftiness to contribute back to the blogdom world. any thoughts on that?
I meant to get over here a long time ago to see your finds. I love that fabric. So cute! And the Christopher Robin book is priceless.
