i finally got around to making the extra wide lounge pants from amy butler's
in stitches. i have wanted to make them for a while. i had forgotten about them until eren posted
hers a few days ago. i immediately thought of a thrifted sheet i bought last year and thought the top of the sheet made for a perfect bottom for the pants. these pants are the most comfortable lounge pants (or easy britches as my dad would call them) i have ever owned. seriously. it is like having the coziness of bed without actually being in bed! and they are so easy to make. i will definitely have to make more.
and just as a bonus, some pics that we took of the kids on the front porch this week...

Oh, I just love those lounge pants. Makes me wants to get the sewing machine out and make me some. The pictures of the kids makes me want to see them. Give them a big hug for me.

I just had to come back and comment on the front porch which looks beautiful. That is one of the things I really wanted when looking for in a house that I didn't get. I still lament over it. Someday I will get my farmhouse victorian but, for now I have a center hall colonial.
I have that book too. did you use the top edge of the sheet for the cuff of your pants?
It seems that not only are the comfortable, they look great on everyone that has made them! Gotta put this on my list to do!
p.s. I love that, "easy britches". Sounds like something my dad would say as well.
Those are so perfect for a nice summer evening to hang out in!! The children are adorable as usual :)
i have this pattern, i will try it this weekend!if i can feel like i'm in bed while walking around, i'm sold!!
