a treat for me

i had great plans for sewing this weekend since it was the first weekend we have spent at home in a while. however, the fact that we hadn't been home much in the last weeks meant that this house was in need of a good cleaning. it just felt kind of stale. i even washed curtains. so, i don't have any new sewn goodies to share. but i do want to share this little container that my mom and dad gave me for my birthday. i just love it. here is a full shot of it...
and in addition to the excitement of washing curtains (yeah, right!), friday afternoon proved to be quite a treat for me. i drove over to athens for this film festival. my reason for going was two-fold. one: notorious was one of the selections. i couldn't miss the chance to see cary grant on the big screen! two: robert osborne would be there in person to talk about the film. i am such a huge fan of his. his knowledge of classic hollywood and films is astonishing. one of my favorite parts of watching movies on tcm is getting to see his commentary before and after the film. it always contains such interesting facts. i was very happy to get the chance to meet mr. osborne after the q&a that followed the film. he was very gracious and kind.
i didn't realize how bad my hair looked that day until after i saw this photo. i apologize :)

Lovely to be able to put a face to the 'Amy' ! The birdie container is adorable, unusual and great colours together.

my hair should look so good on a bad hair day, or any other day for that matter.

Very cute!! I just found your blog through another. I looked at some of your older posts and really enjoyed the sewing projects, especially the adorable dress you made around Easter time. I'll be checking in again.

Oh, Carry Grant! He makes me swoon. They just don't make them like that in Hollywood anymore. I love classic movies too.
