a doll for baby

my friend lacey is expecting her first baby, a little girl, in a few weeks. i would like to take this opportunity to award her with "most exciting baby shower." at the end of her shower we spent almost two hours in the basement due to a tornado warning. for those of you who do not know me, i am terrified of even the idea of a tornado. i would also like to thank lacey for bearing with my nervousness during the whole episode. and for a little more information...i left the shower and drove between two bands of storms just to get home before the second set of storms reached us. well, after being home only twenty minutes, we had another tornado warning at my house (we had one the night before, too, with the tornado striking only about three miles from our house). needless to say, it was a big weekend for me. anyway, back to the main reason for this post...i gave lacey a small gift at the shower with the promise of something handmade to follow. so here she is. a sweet little doll made using emily's pattern. the only change i made was that i decided to embroider the face rather than paint it (since i am much better with a needle than a brush). this doll was so much fun to make. i plan on making several more. and check out the great ones that nancy made. here is the little doll enjoying a nap after climbing a tree...

She's beautiful Amy :)
Tornados.......I cannot imagine how scary that would be. I just keep imagining the film 'Twister'.......

Yay, I love it! And, can I tell you, last Friday, at my last baby shower, we had another tornado warning! I hope this has nothing to do with how this child is going to be! :-)

How do you get the Crafty Crow link? I can get the picture, but not a link. Remember, I am over 40. This stuff is difficult for me.
