relief

this was the sad state that my fabric was in just a couple of days ago. at one point i had everything folded and stacked, but even then, everything was folded differently and stacked oddly on the shelf. (wow, looking back at that photo makes me giddy...i wish the floor beneath the table looked like that now!) i did not even know what fabric i had. i would go searching and find smaller pieces of fabric tucked under large pieces and shoved to the back of the shelf. i even had fabric strewn about the room because it would not fit on the shelf. then, a couple of weeks ago, i found a life saver. well, at least a sanity saver. this tutorial took me from the disaster above to this...

this is revolutionary for me. seriously. it was super easy and quick to do. for all of you with fabric stashes, this is a must. it works for several yards of fabric as well as just fat quarters. and i was able to get all of my fabric on the shelf-with room to spare. i mean, look how easy it is to see all of your fabric...

ok, i will stop raving now. i am just so excited. with each piece i folded, i was thinking about projects. the urge to sew is really hitting me now. if only i could get rid of this horrible sinus headache that i have had for two solid days.

What a beautiful sight! Makes me want to put up shelves and get my fabrics out of the rubbermaid tubs I store them all in. It's so inspiring when you can actually see the fabrics you have.

That looks fantastic! I have a bunch of odd shaped pieces and scraps... what do you do with all of your odd pieces?

It looks great! Good job. Yes, relief is the word. I know what you mean.

PS
I love your cutting table! It's completely original - I love those tables from the 50's.
