can you believe this is what i saw this past weekend? we had a wonderful weekend visiting with friends in north carolina. on saturday we visited the lazy 5 ranch. the place was amazing. you get to ride through on a horse drawn wagon and feed the animals right from your hands. some of the animals even try to get on the wagon with you! i cannot believe how close we were to the giraffes. we actually had to duck out of the way a few times! here is another shot of fred (and my camera is not zoomed!)...

this is what lucy looked like the first half of the ride.
here is shot of michael feeding a yak. i was amazed that the yak could wrap his tongue around the rail of the wagon. eek!
and here is a camel. i have never seen a camel in real life. have you ever heard the guttural sound these guys make? it is a little bit disturbing.

those pics of the giraffe don't look real. i've had the experience of them eating out of my hand and it is gross. cool, but still gross. glad you had a fun time! now you guys need to come visit the zoo animals in tampa...

amy you are a pretty dang good photographer, maybe you should start charging your friends to take pics of their kids...i would pay :)
i can't believe how awesome those photos are. you need to teach me some techniques so that when i pay two arms and leg for a really nice camera and a good lens or two, they will turn out like yours :)
